Dentro do Windows, é possível criar máquinas Windows (desde as versões mais antigas até o recente Windows 7), Linux (RedHat, Suse, Ubuntu, Mandriva e derivados e outras distribuições) e algumas outras menos populares, portanto, uma boa parte do mercado de sistemas operacionais.
Você deve ter se perguntado pelo Mac. Os sistemas Macintosh não são suportados, pois, legalmente, isso não é permitido pela Mac. Portanto, não o utilize para este fim. Juntando a compatibilidade com a estabilidade e suas ferramentas, VMware se torna um dos mais indicadas para virtualização.0, XP e Server 2003 juntamente com o Linux. É necessário experiência para instalar este programa. Na dúvida vá até o site do fabricante.
